Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic Business Development Associate to join our team! Under the supervision of the Director of Business Development, the Business Development Associate will overall provide support with organizational tasks, meetings and proposals. You may be assigned other duties as necessary, supporting the leadership team in activities such as advocacy and event planning. In this role, you will:
Develop sales presentations and proposals to suit the client’s needs and highlight specific benefits of our products and services.
Proactively engage potential clients through strategic initial sales conversations to understand their business needs, challenges, and potential opportunities for collaboration.
Understand the prospective client’s pain points and offer solutions from the company’s product line and services.
Assume ownership for pre-and post-sales support issues initiated by customers and internal personnel.
Make independent decisions and commitments to customers regarding service contract questions and issues.
Assists in planning and organising Zoom meetings/conference calls.
Send follow-up emails after meetings. Nurture prospective customers by following up with high-quality referrals.
Essential requirements
English fluency with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to effectively communicate and share information.
Maintain a professional attitude, with sincerity and enthusiasm, when dealing with clients.
Excellent negotiation and consultative sales skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills
Desirable Attributes
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
Fluency in other languages (especially Spanish, Portuguese or French)
Experience in a Customer Service, sales and business development environment
Knowledge of CRM software, Project management tools (ClickUp), Canva and other software applications is desirable.
MS Office knowledge – specifically Excel and Word, Presentation skills.
Interest and knowledge in sustainable development and island communities
Experience working in a remote team environment
A fair understanding of issues and opportunities in the realm of climate change, renewable energy, biodiversity, and blue and green economies particularly their impact on global islands.
