Marketing Specialist

Highlights:

  • đź—ş Fully remote role

  • 🌍️ Open to anyone in North America, Central America, South America, or Europe

  • 🔑 Work with the founder

Hi, I’m Jessica Malnik, founder and chief copywriter at JM Content Group. I’m looking to hire a Marketing Specialist who’s not only fascinated by marketing but also committed to mastering it. If you're someone who’s spending some of their free time diving into marketing books, testing ideas on side projects, or even blogging (or posting on social media) about your latest discoveries, this could be the role for you.

I’m not concerned with where you’ve worked or how many years of marketing experience you have. What matters here is what you’ve learned, what projects you’re proud of, and what you’re excited about right now. Whether it’s a side project, a project you tackled at your 9-5 job or a freelance marketing campaign you did for a client, I want to hear about it.

Make no mistake - if you’re someone who delivers just enough to get by or needs a lot of hand-holding, this role may not be the best fit. But if you’re ready to step up, take initiative, be a fast learner, and bring your best every day, I’d love to chat.

Note: This is purely a behind-the-scenes support role. You won't have to worry about managing accounts or communicating directly with clients. I'm looking for someone who is ready to step up, help drive projects forward, and find satisfaction in taking initiative.

What You’ll Be Doing

No two days will be exactly alike. However, here are the types of tasks you'll be working on.

  • Find, review, and analyze research and source examples that strengthen our copy and content deliverables

  • Run our voice-of-customer research process

  • Complete SEO research and maintenance tasks in a timely fashion

  • Pull together and organize outlines and first drafts for content, decks, and reports

  • Compile, organize, and format data for analysis

  • Upload, format, and stage content in our CMS

  • Update SOPs in Trello to ensure our processes stay fresh and useful

  • Respond to emails, Looms, and Slack messages from Jessica within 12 hours

About You

  • You’re self-motivated and hungry to learn. You don’t wait for permission to dive in.

  • You’re organized, efficient, and detail-oriented. You have systems and processes that help you stay on top of multiple to-do items and priorities at any given time.

  • You take ownership and follow through on what you say you are going to do.

  • You’re a fast learner, always exploring new areas, testing out what you’ve learned, and taking notes.

  • You bring solutions, not problems. When you see something that could be improved, you’re already brainstorming how to make it happen.

  • You are comfortable working independently on a small, remote-first team.

Logistics

  • Available to work Monday - Friday for up to 25 hours per week to start.

  • Pay range: $15-24 USD per hour, based on experience and skill set

  • Fully remote position.

  • Flexible hours as long as there is some overlap with US business hours Monday through Friday

How to Apply

Click the “Apply Now” button and complete the application by November 30.

Note: Only candidates who complete the Airtable application in full will be considered.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I have room to grow in this position?
Yes, growth is part of the deal. This is a behind-the-scenes role to support and learn, but the hands-on experience and on-the-job learning are what will help you build a solid marketing foundation. You'll get plenty of opportunities to expand your skills as you master new tasks.
Will I be working directly with clients?
No, this role is purely behind-the-scenes support, focused on helping us deliver high-quality work to clients without the need for client-facing communication. You’ll have the chance to master the craft of marketing without the distraction of account management.
I don’t have a degree in marketing. Can I still apply?
Yes, absolutely. Your degree doesn’t define your value here. Your skills and drive do. We’re looking for someone who’s actively learning and can showcase what they’ve achieved, even if it’s through nontraditional projects or independent learning.
How much support will I have?
You’ll be my right-hand person, so we’ll stay closely aligned on key projects. I’m here for guidance on the goals and big picture, but I’ll trust you to dive in, tackle projects, and come up with solutions. If you’re resourceful and confident working independently, you’ll thrive here.
Do I need years of marketing experience to apply?
Not necessarily! What’s more important than years of experience is what you’ve learned, what you’ve created, and how you approach new challenges. If you’ve been hustling, experimenting with side projects, or picking up freelance work to expand your skills, this could be the perfect opportunity.
