Clinical Operations Director

Maximus is looking for a Clinical Operations Director to oversee all aspects of our friendly PC Group’s Provider operations. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our practice, from leading the product discovery phase to identifying customer needs to implementing new processes. This role sits within the MSO but partners closely with the friendly PC group and its Medical Director.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Growth & Provider Focus:

  • Partner with all departments to design solutions and position our products and services for national growth.

  • Lead the customer discovery process to identify pain points, technical needs of providers and patients, and align our offerings to their business objectives.

  • Develop compelling demos and business cases, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor and industry thought leader.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless solution design.

  • Gather and analyze customer insights to influence product roadmaps and drive continuous innovation for improved provider and patient experience.

Clinical Operations & Team Leadership:

  • Lead cross-functional initiatives across departments (product, operations, finance, clinical).

  • Manage and develop staff by communicating clear instructions, offering feedback, and promoting collaboration.

  • Oversee clinical staff operations, including recruitment, orientation, training, performance management, and adherence to policies and procedures.

  • Improve efficiency and effectiveness of all clinical operational workflows.

  • Plan and oversee the implementation of operational clinical staff policies and procedures.

  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives for provider and patient satisfaction initiatives, including follow up and metrics.

  • Oversee and support recruitment, orientation, termination, performance, education, clinical competencies, evaluation, and performance expectations of clinical staff.

  • Develop a team approach to patient care delivery in combination with Operations and Quality/ Patient Safety teams.

  • Collaborate with the Medical Director/ President of all Medical Groups in reviewing and updating clinical policies and procedures.

  • Manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs for provider-focused initiatives.

  • Exercise sound judgment and intervene with physicians when risk factors are identified.

  • Determine when personnel are not capable of managing a clinical procedure or emergency situation, serving as triage to initiate alternatives.

  • Determine appropriate training needs for clinical staff and ensure compliance with established and continued requirements for healthcare services.

  • Lead large, complex product implementations, ensuring user adoption and alignment with provider and patient needs.

Communication & Collaboration:

  • Maintain clear and timely communication with all levels of the organization, including providers.

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners (Sales, Operations, PC Group) to drive growth through solution design, strategic positioning, and compelling presentations.

  • Work with Sales and Operations teams to align on strategies, renewal forecasting, and account opportunities.

  • Partner with internal teams to solve complex customer problems and deliver impactful solutions for providers and patients.

  • Act as the voice of the customer and advocate internally for provider and patient needs.

Process Improvement & Innovation:

  • Drive process improvements to enhance provider, patient, and internal stakeholder service as we scale.

  • Develop new and innovative ways to share data and insights with stakeholders to support their success, including providers.

  • Collaborate on R&D initiatives for both the Medical Group and MSO, focusing on improving provider workflows and patient care.

  • Identify opportunities to improve practice efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in medical practice operations management, with experience overseeing provider operations.

  • Must have telehealth experience

  • Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing teams.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization, including providers.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex processes and projects.

  • Deep understanding of healthcare operations and regulations
