Sales Development Representative (SDR)

About Us 

At McKinney-Vento.org, our mission is clear: to provide comprehensive homeless training, raise awareness about the challenges faced by students facing homelessness, and empower liaisons across the country to better support families in transition. We believe that through education and support, we can make a significant difference in the lives of those confronting homelessness. 

The Role

We are looking for an energetic Sales Development Representative to conduct direct outreach to potential clients via phone and email. The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator with a talent for building rapport quickly and the persistence to turn cold leads into warm opportunities for our sales team. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct high-volume outbound calls and emails to potential clients 

  • Qualify leads based on established criteria 

  • Schedule appointments and demos for the sales team with qualified prospects

    Clearly communicate the value proposition of our products/services 

  • Maintain and update the CRM system with detailed and accurate notes

  • Meet or exceed weekly and monthly targets for appointments set 

  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand their needs and preferences

  • Handle objections professionally and find creative ways to engage prospects

  • Research potential clients to personalize outreach efforts 

  • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions 

  • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times 

Requirements: 

  • Proven experience as a sales development representative, appointment setter, lead generator, or in a similar outbound sales role 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Strong phone presence and listening skills 

  • Multilingual capabilities with Advanced English

  • Proficiency in using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) 

  • Ability to handle rejection and maintain a positive attitude 

  • Strong time management and organizational skills 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Outlook and Excel

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree is a plus 

Nice-to-Have: 

  • Experience in Education or related fields 

  • Familiarity with sales automation tools 

  • Knowledge of social selling techniques 

  • Understanding of basic sales principles and techniques
