
Senior Logistics Specialist

About the Role:
As a Sr. Logistics Specialist, you will support in executing and optimizing freight operations across multiple regions, including the USA & Mexico. This role is responsible for managing daily logistics activities, ensuring timely and cost-effective transportation of goods, and maintaining compliance with international import/export regulations.
You will coordinate shipments, track deliveries, and communicate with carriers, warehouses, and internal teams to resolve logistical challenges. Additionally, you will assist in data entry, reporting, and process improvements to enhance supply chain efficiency. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while ensuring seamless movement of goods across international and domestic supply chains.
What You'll Do:
Logistics Operations & Coordination
Support the execution of logistics strategies to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation of goods.
Coordinate daily freight activities, including shipment scheduling, tracking, and delivery confirmations.
Ensure compliance with import/export regulations by maintaining accurate documentation, including customs declarations, bills of lading, and shipping manifests.
Vendor & Partner Coordination
Communicate with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure smooth transportation and delivery.
Monitor vendor performance and escalate issues as needed to maintain service level agreements (SLAs).
Assist in cost analysis and rate negotiations to optimize freight spend.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with supply chain, warehouse, and customer service teams to align logistics activities with business needs.
Ensure timely and accurate updates on shipment statuses, delays, or issues affecting supply chain operations.
Support process improvements to enhance coordination between internal departments and external logistics partners.
Process Optimization & Reporting
Track and analyze freight costs, transit times, and service levels to identify opportunities for efficiency gains.
Assist in implementing best practices and automation tools to streamline logistics operations.
Generate and maintain reports on shipment performance, vendor reliability, and cost savings initiatives.
Issue Resolution & Communication
Act as a point of contact for resolving logistics-related issues, including shipment delays, compliance concerns, and service disruptions.
Proactively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, providing updates and solutions to improve overall logistics performance.
Support periodic audits and compliance checks to ensure adherence to logistics policies and regulations.
What We're Looking For:
Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience, required
Freight & Transportation Management – Understanding of domestic and international shipping processes, carrier selection, and freight cost optimization.
Import/Export Compliance & Documentation – Knowledge of customs regulations, trade compliance, and key shipping documents such as bills of lading, commercial invoices, and customs declarations.
Skills
Strong communication skills in order to collaborate with different swimlanes, and conduct business with manufacturers and 3PL
Be able to perform several tasks at one time, keep detailed records, and manage several projects in a fast- paced environment
Must handle unforeseen issues
Collect and analyze information, problem solve with data and make decisions.
Experience
Minimum 3 years of related experience on Supply Chain or Logistics in a consumer products
Very strong Excel Skills required
Experience working in an ERP (Coupa/Netsuite/Coupa)
