About the role

The Director of Brand & Content Marketing will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the brand and corporate marketing strategy for Nerdio and will oversee the brand content, creative, and social functions in the marketing organization. 

This strategic leader will be responsible for developing and managing the company’s brand thought leadership program, developing the overall strategy and thought leadership pillars, creating multimedia thought leadership assets, leveraging social media and other earned and paid channels, and leading ongoing marketing initiatives to drive engagement with brand content and increase brand awareness. 

The ideal candidate is a seasoned content strategist with a proven track record of elevating brand visibility and engagement in the IT software industry.

What you'll do

  • Define and fortify the Nerdio brand identity, ensuring consistent messaging, positioning, look and feel, across all marketing and communication channels. 

  • Spearhead efforts to establish Nerdio as a recognized leader in the industry through the creation and implementation of innovative comprehensive content strategies. 

  • Develop and execute an effective content marketing plan encompassing content standard, repeatable processes, content re-use plans, metrics, and editorial calendars across the global marketing team. Content will be utilized across corporate, product, solutions, and mapped to buyer's journey. 

  • Oversee the creation of diverse brand content types, including videos, social posts, blog posts, customer story assets, research studies, and other formats.

  • Elevate our thought leadership efforts to further establish our position in the desktop as a service industry and increase brand awareness to build top of funnel pipeline 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product positioning, value proposition, target audience, and market trends to inform brand asset creation

  • Assist with developing compelling campaign creative themes that resonate with target audiences and create a measurable impact; effectively partnering with demand marketing team is essential. 

  • Establish a focused customer advocacy program that serves as the central hub for how Nerdio leverages customers across the marketing and communications function. This will include developing and delivering a value proposition for executives and sales teams to communicate to customers, encouraging their participation in media articles, blogs, podcasts, speaking opportunities, analyst reports, executive briefings, etc. 

  • Provide counsel and guidance for reputation-impacting global events. Ensure proper communication with executive team and sales leadership on awareness and pipeline impact of events. 

  • Develop and execute against an influencer marketing strategy, (IT Pro Evangelists) in partnership with other marketing groups

  • Define, build, and manage a budget to achieve objectives – including identification of resources, media dollars etc to accomplish goals. 

Qualifications

  • 7+ years' experience in B2B SaaS. At least some of it is in products/platforms positioned for IT enterprise buyers and buying teams. 

  • Exceptionally strong in written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for design and storytelling. 

  • Proven track record of developing and executing content strategies that drive brand awareness, engagement, and lead generation and successfully grew the audience for a technology product or category.  

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire creativity and manage multiple projects simultaneously with urgency. 

  • Proficiency in SEO best practices, content management systems (CMS), and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush). 

  • BA/BS required
