Role
As Project Manager – Defense, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex customer projects once they have been contracted. Your focus is on execution, coordination, and successful implementation.
You will act as the central operational interface between defense customers and our internal product, engineering and security. This role requires structure, clarity, technical understanding, and the ability to manage complexity in politically and operationally sensitive contexts.
What you'll do
Own and manage defense projects from kickoff through successful completion
Define project scope, milestones, timelines, and deliverables in close collaboration with internal teams and customers
Apply Agile delivery practices (e.g. iterative delivery, backlog prioritization, sprint planning) within a controlled governance framework
Translate customer requirements, constraints, and operational realities into clear internal action plans
Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for defense customers during project execution
Coordinate closely with internal teams (product, engineering, security, operations) to align priorities and resources
Develop a strong understanding of our software, system architecture, and deployment models
Support configuration, rollout, and feature implementation in collaboration with technical teams
Ensure compliance with data protection, information security, and regulatory standards relevant to defense sector projects
Ensure high quality and reliability of project outcomes in security-critical contexts
Identify delivery risks early and implement mitigation strategies
About you
Degree in engineering, economics, or related field
Proven experience as a Project Manager in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, preferably in the defense sector
Deep understanding of PRINCE2, PMP, IPMA or comparable governance frameworks, combined with practical experience in Agile or hybrid delivery models. Certification is a plus
Strong organizational and execution skills, with the ability to manage parallel workstreams
Solid technical affinity and the ability to understand and work with software-based products
Good understanding of data security, compliance, and regulatory requirements in sensitive environments
Confidence in dealing with senior stakeholders in formal, structured organizations
Clear, precise communication style and strong documentation skills
High degree of ownership, reliability, and attention to detail
C1+ in German and English
