
Content Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY
The Content Specialist is responsible for creating, editing, and optimizing digital content that drives engagement and supports ecommerce marketing initiatives. Acting as the primary writer and editor for web, video, and other digital platforms, this role collaborates with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-quality, brand-aligned content. A key contributor to storytelling efforts and the RealSource™ blog content calendar, the ideal candidate combines strong writing expertise with a solid understanding of digital marketing strategies, including organic and AI-driven search optimization.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Content Development & Writing
Craft compelling, SEO-friendly copy for ecommerce pages, including category and subcategory descriptions, product details, long-form articles, and blog posts.
Write accurate and optimized meta titles and descriptions to enhance search visibility.
Project Coordination
Manage content-related projects by coordinating with internal creative teams and external vendors for imagery, graphics, and data visualizations.
Editing & Quality Assurance
Edit and update existing website content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and adherence to brand voice.
Collaborate cross-functionally to refine product descriptions and proof third-party content.
Maintain and enforce the RealTruck editorial style guide across all digital touchpoints.
Research & SEO Strategy
Conduct keyword research using tools such as SEMrush, MOZ, Google Search Console, BrightEdge, and Google Ads Keyword Planner.
Apply advanced SEO methodologies, including the Skyscraper technique, to maximize content performance.
AI Integration & Optimization
Utilize AI tools to streamline content creation and editing processes while upholding editorial standards.
Performance Reporting
Analyze content performance metrics and compile reports to inform future strategies.
Data Integration & Visualization
Support integration of new tools and features into analytics platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Adobe Analytics, Domo) for enhanced reporting and insights.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or related field required.
3+ years’ experience in web content writing and development required.
Experienced in handling large quantities of writing and research work and leading contributions of internal and external writers.
Knowledge and expertise with applied-AI usage in a professional digital publishing setting.
Experience with SEO tools like Ahrefs, Majestic, SEMRush, MOZ, Grammarly, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google Search Console; familiarity with product database software.
Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge
Skilled in MS Office and Google Suite.
Highly skilled in English composition (writing).
Ability to write, speak, and comprehend English.
Demonstrated abilities in technical writing for how-to’s and installation guides. Automotive interest and background required.
High school graduate-level mathematical skills required, with a preference for some college level business math (e.g. interpret marketing spreadsheets for KPI’s).
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions.
Travel
Occasional travel may be required.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
This position functions as a Lead: working team member who coordinates, supports, trains, and is a knowledge resource for other team members. No direct reports or supervisory responsibility.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position is subject to Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involved sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.

Visual Acuity
The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
