Junior Copywriter

ABOUT STORM IDEAS  

Founded in 2008, we are an international team with our home office based in Edinburgh, that works with incredible clients all over the world, particularly in the US TV industry.

Whether it’s developing our own products, producing engaging social content en masse, or designing and delivering services to help our clients work more efficiently, our work is varied, exciting and at the very forefront of the latest technology and trends.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What can you expect?

  • Writing engaging and on-brand social media copy for Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube 

  • Reviewing and editing written content across clients for social media and blogs 

  • Pitching article ideas 

  • Implementing SEO and copywriting best practices 

  • Developing strategies to improve the quality of written content 

  • Maintaining internal guidelines for social copy and blog posts 

  • Developing voice and tone across various clients  

QUALIFICATIONS

What's important for us:

  • A 2:1 Bachelor’s degree or higher 

  • 1+ years experience as a copywriter 

  • Great knowledge of SEO 

  • High level of attention to detail  

  • Experience using various social media platforms  

  • Excellent understanding of grammar, punctuation and written English in general  

  • Strong work-ethic and self-motivation  

  • Ability to work well within a team and balance a shared task load  

  • A friendly and enthusiastic demeanour  

  • A love of TV shows and movies

Flexibility  

We’re a remote-first company and support 100% remote working for this role, usually you will be starting your day at 8:30am PST, but some days you’ll need to be flexible to work later if there’s a key delivery to a US client.

Joining us means becoming an integral part of the whole team no matter where we’re physically working, we have a number of initiatives to create a team environment regardless of geographic location.  

PAYMENT 

US - 27,000 - 33,000 USD per year, depending on experience and skills.

CA - 36,000 - 44,000 CAD per year, depending on experience and skills.

CONTRACT TYPE 

Full time employment contract - fully remote working from anywhere in PST!

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

Firstly, you will be invited for a 60 minute interview via Zoom with Nicola Taghizadeh, Head of Content Services and Tania Pardisi, Senior Content Services Manager. We usually ask about your previous experience, future career path and motivation for changing your job, as well as provide you with more details about our projects and working in our team.

If the interview goes well, we will invite you to a second step – a technical task. The last step is the final interview (30 minutes) with Duncan Thomson, Chief Content Officer – it’s a mix of technical and culture-fit questions.
