Digital Marketing Manager

TinySeed is a startup accelerator and venture capital firm with a suite of offerings aimed at ambitious software as a service (SaaS) founders looking to grow their companies. 

We run TinySeed, the gold standard for SaaS startup accelerators, and MicroConf, the largest worldwide community for founders of bootstrapped SaaS companies. In addition, we are launching a premium coaching community for seven- and eight-figure SaaS founders.

We are looking for a Digital Marketing Manager to drive marketing efforts across all of our digital products. Reach across our owned media (email lists, podcast, and YouTube audiences) exceeds 125,000 startup founders, and your role will be both to market our products to that audience, and contribute towards its growth.

You’ll be reporting to our Head of Product, Tracy Osborn.

This is a full-time, remote position with occasional travel for events.

What You’ll Be Doing

Some of the day-to-day operations include:

  • Marketing

    • Develop and implement multi-channel marketing strategies for the company and its individual products. Our main channels include email and social media.

    • Use email marketing, landing pages, and other direct response marketing tactics to sell the firm’s digital products, including our startup accelerator, our premium coaching community, in-person events, virtual events, paid mastermind matching, a video course, and a subscription membership community.

    • Work closely with product teams to ensure alignment between marketing efforts and product goals.

  • Brand management

    • Elevate the firm’s brand positioning as a leader in venture capital and entrepreneurship.

    • Ensure consistency in branding, messaging, and tone across all communication channels.

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and the media.

  • Content creation & campaigns

    • Lead the creation of high-impact content, including blogs, newsletters, case studies, and social media posts.

    • Design and execute marketing campaigns to promote the company’s services and events.

    • Oversee email marketing, social media, SEO/SEM, and (potentially) paid advertising efforts.

  • Analytics & optimization

    • Monitor, analyze, and report on campaign performance and KPIs.

    • Use data-driven insights to optimize strategies, improve ROI, and achieve marketing goals.

    • Stay updated on marketing trends, tools, and best practices.

An Overview of Your First 90 Days

Here are some of the things you may encounter in the first three months working at TinySeed:

  • Dive into and improve our current funnels, and onboarding sequences, and get a feel for our suite of products.

  • Start connecting with a few of our current customers and create our first two case studies.

  • Review our online properties and products and make notes of areas where we could improve our messaging and content (and implement those improvements).

  • Take over our social media accounts and keep them up to date. 

  • Review our YouTube channel and find a few videos to turn into articles.

Skills Needed for This Role

We’re a small team wearing many hats. You’ll never hear anyone say “That’s not my job.”

  • The ideal person for this role will have a strong interest in working in the startup and venture capital space, a great eye for detail, and a passion for setting up repeatable systems and processes.

  • 5+ years experience in a role focused on marketing, selling, and supporting digital products.

  • Strong background in digital marketing, including launching and marketing digital products, copywriting, and building + optimizing marketing funnels.

  • A heavy emphasis on writing exceptional marketing copy. From landing pages to emails to blog posts, this position requires a significant amount of non-A.I. generated copy that sells.

  • Since we have multiple products, there should be some amount of excitement about juggling a few things at once while keeping the big picture in mind. 

  • You work autonomously and have a strong attention to detail. 

  • This role involves a lot of written communication and marketing (blog posts, newsletters, etc.) so extremely honed copywriting chops are required. 

  • You have experience working with online tools such as GSuite, Zapier, Airtable, Notion, and web-based CRMs. In general, you can find and work with the right tool for the right problem. 

  • Excellent written communication skills. Ability to adopt the voice of our brand.

  • (Bonus) A strong knowledge of bootstrapped startups (double bonus if your knowledge is with SaaS).

  • Based in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, or Western Europe and willing to have five hours of overlap with U.S. Pacific Time.
