Director of Sales
Role
This role will be directly working for a Portfolio Company. We’re seeking a results-driven leader to oversee and drive the sales department to new heights. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of sales dynamics and the ability to build and maintain a high-performing team.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Motivation
Foster a cohesive team environment, promoting collaboration and friendly competition
Develop and implement effective incentive schemes to encourage peak performance
Provide recognition for outstanding work and support for underperforming team members
Strategic Planning and Execution
Transform executive-level goals into actionable plans to drive results
Collaborate with marketing to develop lead-generation strategies
Forecast hiring needs and oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training processes
Performance Management
Track and analyze sales metrics, sharing insights with the executive team
Ensure each team member meets or exceeds quota expectations
Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports
Cross-functional Collaboration
Maintain open lines of communication with other departments
Stay attuned to customer needs and preferences, updating strategies accordingly
Success Metrics
Timely submission of weekly sales reports to the executive team
Sales managers meeting or exceeding performance standards
Individual sales team members achieving quota targets
Maintaining a 30% closure rate for consultations
Upholding company values and culture across the sales team
Requirements
4+ years of director-level leadership experience
2+ years of B2B sales experience
Strong self-motivation and time management skills
Proven track record in building high-performing sales teams
Excellent communication skills, both within the team and cross-departmentally
Ability to effectively convey strategies and recommendations to senior leadership
Quick learner with a focus on high-level execution
Experience in developing and improving KPIs and SOPs
Skilled in handling difficult customer situations and de-escalating conflicts
Proficient in managing remote teams
Salary
$100,000-$120,000 base
Expected OTE: $180,000 (uncapped bonus potential)
