Director of Sales

Role

This role will be directly working for a Portfolio Company. We’re seeking a results-driven leader to oversee and drive the sales department to new heights. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of sales dynamics and the ability to build and maintain a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Motivation

  • Foster a cohesive team environment, promoting collaboration and friendly competition

  • Develop and implement effective incentive schemes to encourage peak performance

  • Provide recognition for outstanding work and support for underperforming team members

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Transform executive-level goals into actionable plans to drive results

  • Collaborate with marketing to develop lead-generation strategies

  • Forecast hiring needs and oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training processes

  • Performance Management

Track and analyze sales metrics, sharing insights with the executive team

  • Ensure each team member meets or exceeds quota expectations

  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports

  • Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Maintain open lines of communication with other departments

  • Stay attuned to customer needs and preferences, updating strategies accordingly

Success Metrics

  • Timely submission of weekly sales reports to the executive team

  • Sales managers meeting or exceeding performance standards

  • Individual sales team members achieving quota targets

  • Maintaining a 30% closure rate for consultations

  • Upholding company values and culture across the sales team

Requirements

  • 4+ years of director-level leadership experience

  • 2+ years of B2B sales experience

  • Strong self-motivation and time management skills

  • Proven track record in building high-performing sales teams

  • Excellent communication skills, both within the team and cross-departmentally

  • Ability to effectively convey strategies and recommendations to senior leadership

  • Quick learner with a focus on high-level execution

  • Experience in developing and improving KPIs and SOPs

  • Skilled in handling difficult customer situations and de-escalating conflicts

  • Proficient in managing remote teams


Salary

  • $100,000-$120,000 base

  • Expected OTE: $180,000 (uncapped bonus potential)
