GTM Engineer Associate
About Backblaze
Backblaze is the object storage leader in the open cloud movement, fueling customer success with cloud storage built purposefully to unlock budgets, unburden administrators, and unleash innovators. Together with our partners, we’re helping customers break free from the restrictive, overpriced legacy solutions that hold them back, and blaze forward with the full power of the open cloud in their hands.
Founded in 2007, we scaled the business with less than $3 million in outside funding until 2021, when we did a traditional IPO on the Nasdaq stock exchange. Today, Backblaze generates over $100m in revenue and is the leading specialized storage cloud - managing over three billion gigabytes of data storage for 500K+ customers in 175+ countries, including businesses, developers, IT professionals, and individuals.
But while there is a lot to celebrate in our past, there is almost as much opportunity ahead of us. We’re seeking a GTM Engineer Associate to join our team!
About the Role:
We are looking for a GTM Engineer Associate to bridge the gap between our high-level marketing strategy and technical execution. Your primary mission is to fuel growth by designing and executing the technical infrastructure for campaigns that drive awareness and pipeline.
You won’t just follow a process; you will build and optimize integrated, multi-channel programs that leverage automation and AI to reach the right audiences at the perfect time. You are the "technical architect" who takes a creative campaign idea and engineers the delivery system that makes it perform at 10x scale.
What You'll Do:
Automated List Architecture & Segment Strategy: Take a data-driven approach to building and refining target account lists by engineering automated workflows that ingest intent data and CRM insights.
The Impact: You ensure our sales team never wastes a minute on the wrong lead, maximizing their efficiency and our overall pipeline velocity. Your focus here will deeply impact the effectiveness of our ABM campaigns.
AI Orchestration for Personalized Creative: Use AI as a force-multiplier for demand generation—programmatically accelerating research, account insights, and content iteration at scale.
The Impact: You enable us to send "1-to-1" personalized messages to thousands of prospects simultaneously, preserving brand voice while achieving human-level relevance.
Cross-Functional Technical Alignment: Partner with Sales Ops, Marketing Ops, and Sales Leaders to ensure campaign strategies are technically aligned with business goals and pipeline objectives.
The Impact: You act as the glue between departments, ensuring that marketing’s creative efforts translate directly into "sales-ready" opportunities.
Campaign Workflow Optimization: Continuously test and learn from automated outreach programs, raising the bar for scalability and measurable impact.
The Impact: You turn our demand generation into a "scientific laboratory," where every success is instantly codified into a repeatable, scalable process.
ABM Technical Support: Develop and optimize the backend of ABM programs to ensure buying committees are identified and engaged through personalized, insight-driven outreach.
The Impact: You help us penetrate the world’s largest accounts by ensuring our brand shows up exactly where the decision-makers are looking.
The Right Fit:
Professional Experience: 2–4 years of experience in GTM Engineering, growth marketing, technical demand gen, or a related technical field.
The Technical Stack: Proven experience (or a strong desire to master) Clay, Outreach, ZoomInfo, and various intent data providers.
Analytical & Creative Mindset: Ability to understand custom data points based on campaign initiatives and translate them into compelling "hooks" for prospects.
Systems Curiosity: A proactive, detail-oriented approach to experimentation, always looking for new ways to optimize based on quantitative inputs.
Strategic Communication: Ability to craft compelling technical messaging and articulate complex automation strategies clearly across different teams.
Why this role is the "Force Multiplier"
This role is specifically designed for a builder who views a spreadsheet as a database and a campaign as a sequence of logic. While you will collaborate with creative teams to ensure brand alignment, your primary value is in the plumbing and the engine that makes those creative ideas perform at scale. You don't just send emails; you engineer the future of how we go to market.
At this point, we hope you're feeling excited about the job description you're reading. Even if you don't meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply. Learning, developing, and growing are key parts of our culture. We're eager to meet people who believe in our mission and can contribute to our team in various ways. We want people to feel comfortable expressing their true selves and to come, stay, and do their best work here.
At Backblaze, we value being fair and good to our customers, partners, and employees. That’s why diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the core of our values.
