Chief Executive Officer

What is Bookswap?

Bookswap is a marketplace-meets-community where readers can buy, sell or share their passion for books with others. We are making access to books easier, affordable, and reading a more social activity. With Bookswap it's like having the world’s largest library in your pocket

Bookswap is entering its next phase of growth. We have product traction, a strong mission, and ambitious ideas for global expansion. What we need now is a CEO who can take the company from founder-led execution to a scalable, professional, and globally minded organisation.

As CEO, you will be fully responsible for Bookswap’s strategy, execution, and results. You will lead the transition from an early-stage organisation to a company capable of sustained growth.

You will work closely with the founders and investors during this transition, with real authority over operations, hiring, and execution.

What You'll Own:

  • Full CEO responsibility: company strategy, execution, P&L, and leadership

  • Define and drive Bookswap’s next growth phase, including international expansion

  • Build and scale a high-performing team

  • Establish clear operating rhythms, decision-making frameworks, and accountability

  • Solidify how the company plans, executes, and measures success

  • Develop strategic partnerships and grow Bookswap’s global community and ecosystem

  • Represent Bookswap externally with partners, investors, and key stakeholders

What Success Looks Like (6 - 12 Months)

  • A defined plan for running day-to-day execution with clarity and accountability

  • A scalable organisational structure ready for continued growth

  • Predictable execution against strategic priorities, visible growth in success metrics.

  • Successful entry into 4 priority international markets

  • A culture that balances creativity, ownership, and high standards

Who Are You?

  • A hands-on, product-oriented CEO who enjoys building from ambiguity

  • Comfortable moving between big-picture strategy and tactical execution

  • Proven ability to scale teams, systems, and operations

  • Strong hiring judgment and the ability to develop leaders

  • Calm, decisive, and resilient in uncertain or fast-changing environments

  • Aligned with Bookswap’s mission and excited to build something enduring

Why is this interesting:

  • Rare chance to lead a product-driven company with a meaningful mission.

  • Real authority to shape strategy, organisation, and culture.

  • Backed by engaged investors and a team that wants to evolve and grow.

  • Opportunity to build a global company, not just a local success story.

  • Potential to work remote.

Increase your chances of landing your dream career.
