Collegewise is looking for an inside salesperson to become the next great addition to our sales team. This is a remote position and we are open to candidates in any location within the United States or Canada.

Collegewise believes that the college admissions process has spun out of control for high school students and their parents. Too much anxiety and confusion. Too much obsession with prestigious colleges. Too little appreciation for the wonderful education and experiences waiting at so many schools beyond just the famous ones. And weâre out to change all of that. Together, weâve built the nationâs largest college counseling organization with over 50 highly trained counselors injecting guidance, perspective, and occasional cheerleading into the admissions process for the families who join our programs. Since 1999, weâve helped over 30,000 A-students, C-students, and everyone in between find, apply to, and attend the right colleges for them.

Whatâs the job?
Your mission will be to drive revenue that allows Collegewise to continue to grow, scale, and change lives. In this role, you will be both an executor of our sales process and a helpful guide to those families who enter into it.
As an Inside Sales person at Collegewise, your role is pivotal in guiding families through the process of enrolling in our programs. Your passion for education and strong sales skills are key to successfully consulting with families and helping them make informed decisions about their children's educational journey. Youâll engage meaningfully and efficiently by telephone, zoom, and email with parents of college-bound students. Youâll pair them with appropriate programs and follow up to make sure that hand-off has gone smoothly. And youâll need to do all of this while efficiently managing a high volume of incoming leads.
About the Role & Responsibilities
Here are the 3 most important responsibilities for an inside salesperson at Collegewise
Achieving (and exceeding) agreed upon sales targets: Your primary responsibility is to use your sales skills to consult with families about the benefits of enrolling in a Collegewise program. This involves establishing a strong rapport, understanding their needs, building customized packages, and guiding them through the decision-making process, including the benefits of working with Collegewise.
Communication and follow-up: You are expected to maintain regular communication with families, providing them with updates and answering any questions they may have. Detailed follow-ups are crucial to ensure that all their needs are met. This also includes developing and maintaining positive and professional customer interactions and relationships that leads to great experiences and referrals.
Proactivity: A high level of self-motivation and drive is required for a remote sales job. This includes being proactive in reaching out to potential families and being persistent in your follow-ups. You should also be intellectually curious, continuously looking for ways to improve your sales techniques, enhance your industry knowledge, provide feedback and suggestions and come up with ways to improve the overall sales process for our families.
Youâll accomplish the above by:
Communicating via phone, zoom and email with families interested in learning more about our services. Some of those inquiries are incoming, but even when you are making outbound efforts to reach families, you will never be contacting anyone who hasnât specifically asked that we do so.
Learning about a familyâs needs by asking the right questions and taking time to listen (what you ask and hear is often more important than what you say).
Educating families about the Collegewise program options.
Following up with families whoâve spoken with.
Tracking and updating a familyâs sales status in our CRM system.
Who Weâre Looking For
Given the mission of our work, we require that candidates have earned a bachelorâs degree. But beyond your education and the experience on your resume, here is the type of person and talent weâve learned thrives in this role:
Proven experience in a sales or consultative role with a strong grasp of sales fundamentals
Strong time management skills and ability to adapt to work on a fully remote team thatâs situated across all four US time zone
A high-level of empathy
Incredibly kind and team-focused
Detail-oriented
A love of data and knowledge of CRM platforms (like Hubspot) is a plus

Salary, start date, and location
This position starts at a 45-50k base plus commission with uncapped earnings (average annual OTE is 120K+). Targets are set monthly and commissions paid out monthly. We also offer a full suite of benefits that includes vacation time, summer work hours, paid parental leave, and a robust insurance plan. Weâd like our new inside salesperson to start as soon as possible, but we can adjust the start date to accommodate the right person. Weâre comfortable with the person in this role working remotely, but the ideal candidate will be serve families in the Pacific time zone.
