Events Specialist (Associate)

DCG Communications (DCG) is seeking a motivated collaborative, and highly organized Events Specialist (Associate) to support our federal client. We are looking for skilled problem solvers and diverse thinkers—people who are passionate about adding to our team culture as well as leveraging their skills to make a difference. 

Location: 

At DCG, many of our team members including this role are remote. With over 100 employees based in 23 states (and counting!), DCG is committed to hiring talented employees across the United States. The selected candidate will work during DCG’s core Eastern Standard Time business hours. 

In this role, you’ll be responsible for: 

  • Serving as a direct client point of contact to coordinate event related needs for up to 14 events over the course of the contract. 

  • Conducting event research to identify VA attendance and leadership speaking opportunities at national conferences and seminars. 

  • Creating planning and logistics timelines for event projects, including registration, booth purchases, material handling, coordination on promotional material movements, and more. 

  • Coordinating with event POCs for event details and correspond with event attendees to provide up-to-date event information. 

  • Monitoring and closely adhering to budget constraints, tracking costs per event on a month-to-month basis. 

  • Analyzing event feedback and messages to develop client recommendations for enhancements or updates to existing event efforts. 

  • Working closely with account and design team to coordinate event promotional materials, as needed. 

  • Working closely with the contract project manager to develop processes, best practices, standard operating procedures, and other documents to create efficiencies across event projects. 

  • Researching and working with third-party vendors to procure various promotional materials. 

Position Requirements: 

  • 3-5 years of relevant professional experience supporting communications and marketing campaigns. 

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities. 

  • Proven to have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, an eagerness to work in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to manage a diverse workload.  

  • Ability to work on multiple projects and manage multiple deadlines. 

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve and drive outcomes. 

  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
