
Director Sales (all genders)
We are looking for a hands-on Director of Sales (all genders) to build and scale sales in our growing B2B SaaS startup. This role carries overall responsibility for establishing a predictable, scalable, and sustainable sales setup during our company's next growth phase. Our product is successfully established in the market โ now it's about systematically structuring and developing sales.
As Director of Sales, you will be responsible for our entire sales operation and work closely with the founding team to further develop our go-to-market strategy and translate it into measurable growth. This role is for a leader with a builder mentality who thinks strategically but is also hands-on in the operational side of things. You will build a high-performing sales team, establish clear processes for pipeline management and forecasting, and lay the foundation for scalable growth. In this role, you'll stay close to the team, customers, and deals, actively shaping how we sell and grow.
As Director of Sales, you'll be a key member of the leadership team, significantly influencing the company's commercial direction and future growth trajectory.
Company stage: approximately $7 million ARR with a clear growth perspective to $25โ30 million ARR.
Reporting line: Directly to the Founder
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Execution: Building and implementing scalable sales structures through the development of a repeatable, data-driven B2B SaaS sales process. The goal is to make sales predictable, efficient, and sustainably scalable.
Revenue & Growth Ownership: Overall responsibility for revenue and growth, including ownership of the pipeline, forecasting, target achievement, and sustainable revenue growth. Ensuring reliable management in line with clearly defined sales targets.
Team Leadership & Development : Building, leading, and developing a high-performing sales team. Responsibility for recruiting, onboarding, coaching, and continuous development of team members to ensure consistently high performance.
Go-to-Market Leadership: Sharpening the go-to-market strategy, clear prioritization and orchestration of inbound and outbound approaches along the growth targets.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Close, continuous collaboration with Marketing, Product and Customer Success across the entire revenue funnel to ensure a consistent, efficient and customer-centric go-to-market.
Sales Operations & Transparency: Establishing clear KPIs, structured reporting processes, and reliable forecasts. Ensuring maximum transparency for the CEO and board as a basis for strategic decisions.
Your profile
Sales Leadership Experience: At least 6+ years of experience in a senior sales leadership role (e.g., VP Sales, Head of Sales) in a B2B SaaS environment, ideally in a scale or growth phase.
Scaling & Growth Track Record: Proven success in building and scaling sales teams, processes, and revenues in high-growth SaaS organizations.
Strategy & Execution Mindset: Strong strategic competence combined with a pronounced hands-on mentality. Ability to seamlessly switch between conceptual work and operational implementation โ especially in early and dynamic growth phases.
Leadership & Ownership: Clear, binding leadership style with a high degree of personal responsibility and experience in developing, motivating and increasing the performance of different team members and profiles.
Data & Revenue Acumen: Deep understanding of key sales and revenue KPIs, funnel logics, forecasting methods and pipeline management for data-driven growth management.
Go-to-Market Expertise: Solid experience with inbound and outbound sales approaches, more complex buying processes, and the clear definition and prioritization of Ideal Customer Profiles (ICP).
Stakeholder Communication: Confident, direct and convincing communication at eye level โ both internally with teams and externally with customers, as well as at CEO and board level.
Systems & Tools: Confident handling of CRM and revenue tools (e.g. HubSpot, Salesforce, Notion, Slack) and the ability to quickly adapt and effectively use new systems.
Language skills: Very good German and English skills for working in international B2B SaaS contexts.
