
Shopify & Technical Systems Operations Manager
Ivy and Rose is a Chicago-based jewelry manufacturing company, which sells through a variety of online channels. We are looking for a Technical Systems Operations Manager to act as the engine of our digital operations on shopify and collaborate with the back-end development team for our custom inventory and production management software. No coding is required though you will be working with several software development contractors.
Ivy and Rose is a boutique small business that is growing every year. There is a significant strategy and logic component and this role would directly report to the owner, collaborating in regular growth-oriented strategy sessions. Your objective is to translate business needs into actionable results. This can involve managing the technical team for the back-end software, implementing shopify features, new AI tools, and other business integrations.
In addition, this role involves a marketing and data analysis component for managing our online marketing via google and meta ads. There will also be internal data analysis for promotions and best sellers.
Key Details:
Start Date: July 2026
Hours: Preferred to be able to work until at least 3pm Central Standard Time
Paid time off: 15 days per year
Responsibilities:
Management of Internal Custom Software ~30%
-Collaborate with back-end development team on new projects and initiatives related to inventory management, production and manufacturing management
-Communicate with other team members to understand how to improve processes and resolve issues and inefficiencies
-Conceptualize business needs and software logic to identify viable solutions
-Ensure software development is done efficiently and effectively
-Test and iterate beta versions of software releases as they get developed to identify bugs prior to launch
- Quickly remediate, report and escalate unexpected bugs as reported by other users or identified yourself
-Implement bulk product updates as indicated by the owner, due to shifting materials prices, promotions, etc…
-Identify and propose improvements and opportunities for greater efficiency and ease of use
Shopify Management ~40%
-Use shopify’s existing tools to manage front end, non-custom, development based on existing and future business needs
-Research and identify how to execute a viable solution for various ongoing business needs using Shopify tools/apps.
-Becoming extremely familiar with the front end of the website to maintain ideal user experience and immediately address any front-end bugs
- Identify ways to improve the user experience such as filtering, navigation, layouts, new pages and any new features/tools that become available on shopify
-Significant use of shopify Flow to manage the connection with our internal software
-Manage all of our existing shopify apps and keep on top of their updates
-Hire, vet and collaborate with 3rd party shopify developers for custom front end functionality and tools. Follow up with QC testing.
-Research and Identify improvements in the website’s SEO, AEO and domain score for search rank and visibility improvement
Strategy/Marketing ~20%
-Optimize existing and identify new email marketing strategies; collaborate with owner and design team.
-Execute existing search marketing strategies, both paid and organic (SEO, SEM). Identify improvements and new opportunities.
-Manage, oversee and adjust budgets for paid search campaigns on Google and Meta.
-Participate in monthly strategy sessions on how to improve brand visibility, adjust marketing strategies, budgets, and improvements in user experience
- Research and recommend AI tools to potentially implement in other areas of our business. Marketing, production, customer service, etc…
General Tech Support & Reporting ~10%
-Provide tech support related to our systems for our 10 person team and also any tech support related to existing integrations with ebay, etsy, zoho and rapnet.
-Provide Data and analysis on performance of Google/Meta ads
-Create reports and analysis for effectiveness of promotions, biannual sales, marketing A/B testing
Skill Requirements:
-Fully Fluent in English
-Strong Familiarity with Excel
- Strong Familiarity with Shopify (coding ability is not required but shopify development is a plus)
-Software product management experience
-Familiarity with google analytics and meta ads
-Resources will be provided to become educated in jewelry specific education for basic familiarity
