
Sales Development Representative - Podcast-Focused

We are looking for a highly motivated person with Sales Development skills to join our team at Legendary Podcasts. This is a pretty unique role if we do say so ourselves!
This position is structured as a Sales Development Representative role, but what you’ll actually be doing is interfacing between our clients and the hosts of top podcasts to secure placements for them to speak on these podcasts.

Our podcast booking team is structured just like a sales team, with most of your day-to-activities being very similar, and your base + bonus structure will make you feel right at home with your sales background.

We are Legendary Podcasts - we were originally founded close to a decade ago as a lead generation and outreach company, but have since pivoted our skillset of doing fantastic, personalized outreach into the fast-growing world of podcasting. Our growth has been right in line with the podcasting industry as a whole - up and to the right! 📈
We are currently a fully-remote team of 25 and we’re looking to add 2-3 new team members to our Podcast Booking department.
We have a grand vision over the next 3 years to turn podcasting into the best marketing channel for B2B companies.

About the Role
The main function of this role is to understand the types of podcasts our customers want to be featured on, reach out to the podcasts in our database and network and secure placements for them. This requires a lot of outreach and sales skills. You often need to sell the host on why having our customers on their show is beneficial to them, as well as sometimes selling our customers on the importance of the opportunity.
Job Responsibilities
Serves customers by properly understanding their podcasting purpose and finding the best fits of shows that are catering to the target audience that best serves their business goal.
Reaches out and works with existing shows to understand their reach, engaged audiences and ideal guest profile to be able to determine which of our clients are a good fit for them.
Works hand in hand with our research team to define information requirements, provide feedback and update our database in a timely and efficient manner.
Diligently records all necessary information in our systems to document outreach, bookings, recordings, outcomes and client feedback.
Creates outreach strategies to focus efforts in prioritizing client experience and exceeding their expectations of our service.
Looks for ways to improve current processes and constantly challenges the status quo with new ways of strategizing efforts.
Resolves issues regarding the logistics or outcomes of podcast recordings between clients and shows.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Hours and Expectations
This position is designed for work to be completed within 40 hours between Monday and Friday. However, as an all-remote company with a big focus on work/life balance, we don’t believe in set schedules but focus more on completed work and overall well-being of each individual team member. You’ll be expected to manage up to 40 individual accounts and meet the booking criteria outlined by each client during their onboarding.

Requirements:
Outreach/Prospecting skills - While this is slightly different than sales outreach, lots of the same principles apply and are essential for success in this role
Customer service - You’ll be working directly with our customers and serving them well and kindly is a must
Great communication skills - So much of this role is communication-based, both internally and externally. Great and clear communication makes everything so much easier
Ability to be a team player - You’ll be expected to work as a part of a team and assist your team members and they’ll be assisting you as well. We work best when we all work together
Adherence to quotas - We have quotas we need to meet to keep our clients happy, and you’ll need to keep these top of mind
Organizational skills - Being able to keep yourself organized and on track is a big part of helping you to hit your quotas
Documentation skills - Being able to look back at what we’ve done to help us create future results is key to our success, and it all starts with properly documenting our work
Hiring Process
fter submitting an application, we’ll be selecting candidates who look promising and invite them to an initial interview. If you perform well in the interview, we'll send them a trial task to complete, to assess how their skills would translate to this position.
All candidates who submit an impressive trial task will enter final consideration and we may follow up to go over some of your answers in the trial task before making a decision.
All new hires will go through a three-month trial period with us to mutually assess a fit, before being offered their permanent contract.
What’s in it for you?
Compensation
Base salary starts out at $1,100 during the trial period (3 months), and increases to $1,200 once a permanent contract is provided after the trial period.
There are also monthly performance bonuses available every single month (even in your first month!), based on the number of podcast bookings you secure for our customers. The bonuses range between $50 and $800 per month based on performance.
