Account Executive

McKinney-Vento.org is dedicated to supporting school districts and their liaisons across the U.S. to ensure compliance with the McKinney-Vento Act. We provide essential resources, training, and tools to help educators and administrators support students experiencing homelessness. We are seeking a driven and empathetic Account Executive to join our team and contribute to our mission.

Position Overview

The Account Executive (what we internally call our Program Manager) will be responsible for engaging school districts, understanding their needs, and presenting our services as effective solutions. This is a relationship sales role that requires building lasting partnerships, guiding clients through the onboarding process, and ensuring satisfaction with our offerings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Present the value of McKinney-Vento.org’s services, focusing on how our tools and training support compliance and student success.

  • Conduct discovery calls to understand potential clients’ challenges and needs and discuss how our platform can help. 

  • Schedule and lead product demonstrations to deepen engagement and address pain points.

  • Close deals by working with key stakeholders and decision-makers to sign off on the purchase.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth client onboarding and handoff.

  • Maintain strong client relationships, acting as their primary point of contact for ongoing support and feedback, and manage product renewals. 

  • Report on sales activities, progress, and client feedback to inform continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Experience in a sales or business development role.

  • Advanced English communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Understanding or experience in the education sector and/or non-profit work is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet sales targets.

  • Familiarity with HubSpot CRM for deal tracking and managing a sales pipeline. 

  • Previous teaching experience would be a plus!
