Reporting directly to the Global Industry Solutions Leader, you will lead all aspects of providing a retail strategy that aligns to our customer use cases, product roadmaps and sales motion by partnering with these organizations. You will be responsible for driving the GTM to grow the retail vertical by working with the Top Retailers in North America to understand their initiatives and drive the strategic adoption of the Palo Alto Cybersecurity Platforms. You will lead a team of retail business and technical practitioners that build relevance for Palo Alto Networks within the retail community and support our account teams while continuing to maintain and build strong customer partnerships.
Your Impact
Leading a Dynamic Team
Build strong functional teams throughout all aspects, including attracting talent, achieving team growth, succession planning, and personal development
Drive a 'solution sales' mindset
Collaborate closely with sales leadership and drive a consultative sales culture working with the biggest retailers and hoteliers across North America
Develop a culture of accountability and attainment of performance metrics and goals
Ensure staffing levels and deployment to support sales teams
Coach teams utilizing standard methodologies to drive consistency and performance
Develop and practice effective mentoring skills to craft high performing teams to deliver the highest level of service and keep our customers top of mind
Understanding of the retail Market
Have a deep understanding of the current market share, industry trends, GPO growth, and changes in government retail policy to develop and re-design strategic business plans
Is known as a retail thought leader in the retail industry with a strong provider background
Can Confidently speak to a C-level Audience and share the retail message on why cybersecurity is important to driving a transformation strategy
Active Participation in organization like NRF, RHISAC, IFBTA with strong public speaking skills
Align strategies and plan to drive specific region, product, and modality market share growth by working closely with your peers
Collaborate with Business Units and Marketing to drive specific marketing strategies for National, Regional and key accounts
Lead market growth initiatives with new products and new segments
Engage with C-level customers to explore, build and prioritize opportunities while identifying missed opportunities
Internal Partnerships
Build and instill strong harmony between all connecting teams
Represent the business view cross-functionally and be able to differentiate solution requirements globally
Qualifications
Your Experience
Minimum 15 years of progressive responsibility in retail sales or retail information technology
Minimum 5 years experience in a senior functional leadership role with broad leadership and management responsibilities for a large team
In-depth retail industry experience and knowledge, with a shown success in providing an industry point of view with the ability to use innovative, creative and strategic solutions to align company resources with customer needs
Bachelor of Science or Business. MBA strongly preferred
Possess the ability to successfully handle analytical-rigorous corporate initiatives
Effective communication skills, business maturity, and good judgment.
Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously organize several projects
Strong work ethic and ownership of company and client goals/objectives, focused on understanding, meeting, and exceeding customer expectations.
High energy, a strong sense of urgency, self-motivated, and results-oriented.
Ability to work in an energizing environment with rapidly changing priorities, while demonstrating flexibility and a positive attitude
Ability to cultivate strong, professional rapport with internal clients
Travel - initially 40% shortly thereafter 20%-30%

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $183,600/yr to $/297,000yr. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
