Head of Events & Community

About us

Rythm is the fastest-growing lab in America. We redefined at-home testing with the world’s easiest blood test and created a culture around monthly lab testing from home.

We’ve processed millions of tests across all 50 states, and we do everything in-house, from sample testing and logistics to code, marketing, and design. That vertical integration gives us the speed, control, and creativity to shape the future of health and wellness.

The role

Rythm has a structural advantage that makes our offering unique in the marketplace: people can experience our product in person and join Rythm IRL. When someone tries a painless at-home blood test at a run club, a conference, or a branded activation, the product sells itself. That makes IRL one of our highest-ROI acquisition channels and the most powerful brand-building tool we have in a world of AI-generated noise and declining trust in what people see online.

As the Head of Events & Community, you will own and build the entire Events & Community function from the ground up. This is a three-pillar team spanning Events, Community, and Brand Partnerships — and today it is largely an open canvas. You’ll inherit a driven team of Event Coordinators and the energy of an early-stage team that has already proven the model. Your job is to turn what’s been scrappy into a scalable, predictable engine that brings Rythm to life in real life across priority DMAs nationwide, while guiding a content engine that can plug into our digital channels.

You will sit in the Marketing organization and partner closely with the creative, growth, and creator teams. We’re looking for someone who sits at the nexus of strategy and operations — a hands-on program builder who can design the playbook, manage the team, and also show up at 6 AM to set up the tent. You think and execute in flywheels: events generate content, content feeds paid and organic, paid and organic drive awareness, awareness drives prospects to the next event.

This role requires a heavy travel component. Must be comfortable traveling 1–2 weeks per month.

What you’ll do

Event strategy & execution

  • Own and execute Rythm’s barbell event strategy: large-scale branded activations and high-frequency community pop-ups

  • Design activation systems across different sizing tiers with repeatable kits, mockups, and logistics

  • Oversee event operations end-to-end: vendor management, permitting, freight, staffing, compliance, and teardown

  • Drive measurable subscriber acquisition on-site at every activation

  • Build the event calendar in lockstep with the CEO and marketing team

Community program development

  • Design, launch, and scale a Community Lead program across priority metros

  • Build and prove out the playbook for Community Leads: sourcing, onboarding, incentives, content expectations, performance tracking

  • Develop a local density strategy to build authentic relationships with influential networks

  • Create a feedback loop between Community Leads and the broader marketing org

  • Scout, hire, and manage Community Leads in critical DMAs

Brand partnerships

  • Identify, negotiate, and execute brand partnership deals with endurance sports, wellness brands, and lifestyle properties

  • Stand up a Sports Marketing capability positioning Rythm as the health-data partner of choice

  • Evaluate partnership opportunities through acquisition and brand lenses

  • Structure creative deals: co-branded activations, sponsored race series, exclusive integrations

  • Manage partnership relationships post-deal to ensure activation quality and ROI

Content generation & brand storytelling

  • Treat every event as a content production opportunity

  • Coordinate with the creative team on shot lists, social posting workflows, and post-event packages

  • Build the IRL-to-digital flywheel: events generate authentic content that fuels paid and organic channels

  • Develop branded merchandise and activation assets reinforcing Rythm’s identity

  • Champion Rythm’s brand positioning across demographics and segments

Team building & operational leadership

  • Build and lead the Events & Community function, making critical hires to drive results

  • Create scalable operational infrastructure: playbooks, kits, merch inventory, freight solutions, standardized budgets

  • Own the Events & Community P&L, reporting clear business results to leadership

  • Serve as the connective tissue between IRL and digital, ensuring insights flow back to customer-facing functions

What you bring

  • 7+ years in experiential marketing, events, community, or brand partnerships at a high-growth consumer, health/wellness, or DTC brand

  • Operator mindset: able to design strategy and run scrappy activations

  • Proven track record of driving measurable acquisition through IRL channels

  • Experience building and managing distributed field teams with clear accountability

  • Brand partnerships or business development experience with proven results

  • Strong creative instinct and content sensibility

  • Genuine affinity for health, wellness, endurance, or fitness communities

  • Extreme comfort with ambiguity and startup pace

  • Exceptional project management and logistics skills
