What We’re Looking For
Vantage Point Logistics is looking for a Sales Engineer + Trainer to join our fast-growing team!
Our Sales Engineer + Trainer will be responsible for demonstrating to prospective customers how VPL’s Products will meet their needs and getting them trained and up to speed during the implementation process. In addition to partnering closely with our Business Development and Sales team this role will work closely with Customer Success, Product Management, Development, Operations, and Marketing. Our Sales Engineer is a highly visible technical and product expert with a sales mindset, and a primary driver for internal advancement of customer and market requirements.
What You’ll Do
Work closely with our Sales and Business Development Team to support customer engagements and opportunity capture
Demonstrate a breadth of knowledge and technical aptitude around VPL’s products and capabilities
Serve as a technical resource supporting the Development team during proposal efforts
Develop and maintain strong customer relationships
Stay up to date on competitors’ products, technologies and services
Coordinate with the Product Development Leads to identify and justify internal initiatives that will support technology advances or disruptions based off market needs or trends
Travel to customers, industry and market events.
Provide technical expertise and technical closure for product solutions
Recognized within the team as the subject matter expert across our products
Maintain product/solution expertise of market trends in aligned technology including detailed understanding of the competition
Provide high level solution design
Be able to present our technical vision and offerings strategy to all levels across the customer internally and externally
Own the delivery of technical briefings for our products demonstrations when required
Participate/Complete demonstrations of specific solutions
Train customers on our products during the implementation process
What You'll Bring
Proven track record of building and maintaining excellent customer relationships with both technical and business stakeholders
Consistent proven achievement against set goals
3+ years driving the technical sales lifecycle
A Bachelors’ degree in the field of Computer Science, Engineering, or Supply Chain
3-5 years of experience in design engineering, business development, or applications engineering
Clear and articulate verbal and written communication skills
A mindset of innovation and continuous improvement
Prior experience working in a Software Product Company
Prior experience training new customers on Product Suites
BONUS: ERP Experience (specifically systems such as Lawson, PeopleSoft, and or WorkDay)
BONUS: Supply Chain Experience (specifically working with Transportation and Warehouse management systems)
