How to Get Started Creating Your Candidate Profile

How to Get Started Creating Your Candidate Profile - Remote Resources - Dynamite Jobs

When it comes to finding a job, your candidate profile is your business card and, asides from your experience, probably one of the most important things that will get you hired.

The first thing that recruiters and hiring managers see before your resume is your candidate profile, therefore, the better your profile, the higher your chances of getting noticed and landing a job.

The good news is that creating a profile on Dynamite Jobs is very easy.

This quick guide will walk you through all the steps you need to take to create a strong profile and stand out from your competition.

Here's how to get started creating a candidate profile that'll help you land a remote job.

The first thing that you need to do is head over and click on the Sign Up button in the upper right corner.

Select “I’m a Candidate” option and fill in your email.

As a side note, if you don’t have a professional email address, now is the time to create one. Aim for something simple, such as firstname.name or something along those lines.

After hitting Sign Up, a new window will open where you need to fill in your Full Name and set a new password.

In the next window, you should select your job preferences. As you’ll be able to see, you can choose from a wide selection of jobs, starting from Admin Jobs, Business Development, jobs in Crypto, all the way to Sales or Marketing Jobs, and even Developer, Finance or HR jobs.

While you might be tempted to select different jobs (e.g. sales, design, teacher), as you might have experience in various roles, our advice is to focus on the most recent, as in most cases, this is what hiring managers are looking for. For example, if you’ve worked in HR for 5 years, but your most recent experience for the past 2 years is in Marketing, although you have less experience in Marketing, you’ll have a higher chance of landing a job in Marketing compared to landing one in HR.

This applies to preferred skills as well. Focus on skills that are relevant to the type of job you are looking for. The candidate profile below is set for someone looking for a remote job in Marketing, therefore all preferred skills are Marketing skills.

The following step is to set your expected salary. Here you have the option to set it per month, per year, or by the hour. If you don’t know what your expected salary is, you can either research what the market offers or you can hide this information from companies.

After pressing next, your candidate profile will open, where you need to add some information in order to make it easier for companies to find you.

Start by uploading your resume, but not before making sure that it is up to date and relevant to the types of jobs that you are planning to apply to. Also, make sure to include achievements as well, as this is something that hiring managers are looking for when searching for new talent.

After uploading your resume, you will need to fill in your work experience.

While we know that this is one of the biggest pet peeves of job seekers, hear us out, there is a good reason why we ask candidates to fill in work experience in addition to uploading their resumes.

Why is an online candidate profile important in getting hired?

Your candidate profile makes it easy for companies to find you. For example, a hiring manager might be looking for someone with experience as a web developer, therefore when looking on our platform, they most probably will be looking for these keywords. Your filling in your work experience is what will make your profile show up in the search results. The hiring manager will take a look at your profile and, if they consider it a good fit for a remote job that they might have, then will they download your resume.

This is great because you increase your chances of landing a remote job just with the help of your candidate profile, without having to actually apply to that particular job.

Of course, applying for jobs that suit your set of skills and experience, coupled with having a complete profile will maximize your chances of landing a job.

Having said this, we encourage you to add some of the most relevant work experiences you’ve had. You don’t need to add all of them. You have your resume for that.

Conclusions

We encourage candidates to add as much relevant information to their profile as possible.

Fill in all fields, including the ones that are not mandatory, in order to make sure you don’t miss out on any opportunities. Also, keep your profile updated. If you gain experience that is relevant to the types of jobs you are looking for, make sure you add it both to your resume and your online candidate profile.

Whether you are looking for a remote part-time job to supplement your income or you want to make a career change, your candidate profile is your most important asset.

We have helped thousands of job seekers to find remote work and we are constantly working on the platform to make it easier for candidates and companies to find each other. We are confident that following the above steps will increase your chances of finding a job faster.
