Community Event Coordinator
About Us
We run a podcast (TropicalMBA) and entrepreneurial community (Dynamite Circle) that connects founders of online businesses (mostly e-commerce, SaaS, and Agencies) with each other through a variety of products like Masterminds, an online forum, and events all around the world.
Our community events are unique because there are no 'gurus' or paid speakers - our goal is to attract exceptional founders to our group and have them share with each other, and increasingly, create experiences that they can participate in together (e.g., skiing, hiking, city tours).
Our company is long-standing (by internet standards) with our first event being hosted in 2011. Since that time we've hosted hundreds of events all around the world.
About the Role
Our members say their experience with our brand is "all about the events," and we're seeking a professional with the experience to deliver our ambitious event schedule. From top level strategy to the smallest details, we're seeking somebody who's ready to work with our team to deliver our most exciting calendar yet - from 30+ monthly meetups organized by members, to hand-crafted experiences all around the world, to larger gatherings in Bangkok and Mexico City.
As our events manager you will:
Craft an elegant global event strategy, from financial plan to delivery. You’ll work with our team to map out yearly event calendars and own all the details to make each event a success.
Effectively & proactively communicate the value proposition of the event, creating a “buzz” about it in our community
Create & manage event ticket systems, sell event tickets to community members, and keep detailed information on each event
Research & book ideal locations, restaurants, hotels, things to do, and create detailed event itineraries
Manage event speakers, venue staff, VIP customers, and our internal team
Communicate at a high level with attendees
Build processes & SOPs that allow our members to host 20+ monthly meetups, both virtual and in-person. Setting the standard for meetups and events, templates to build off of and roadmaps for successful member hosted meetups and events.
You'll also be tasked with working with event hosts in 10 cities annually to bring our member-hosted events series to the next level. You'll need to feel comfortable bringing events to life just using email, phone, and text.
Finally, you'll be responsible for managing every element of our two large events of the year (about 300+ attendees) in Mexico City and Bangkok respectively. Each event will require you to travel to those locations for a week to be with the team and work directly with the venue.
