Gorilla 76 is looking for a full-time strategist. As part of the strategy department, you’ll be responsible for developing modern marketing programs that deliver meaningful business outcomes for our clients in the B2B manufacturing space. Candidates must be based in the U.S.

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Positioning

  • Strategic direction of accounts

  • Platform proficiency

  • Measurement and reporting

Before applying, please review the following:

Your role

This position focuses on generating marketing-sourced pipeline revenue for our clients.

You’ll need to be able to shift from high-level consulting while leading client-facing workshops and meetings, to tactical execution when setting up paid social and search campaigns or diving deep into reporting to let data guide your decision making. Throughout it all, it’s important to never lose sight of marketing fundamentals.

Internally, you’re the embodiment of our Results core value. You guide and lead the team in activities that will help our clients achieve their revenue goals.

What that looks like:

  • Leading discovery workshops with potential clients and developing months-long marketing Road Maps that support their revenue goals

  • Providing guidance and feedback to creative teams that results in ads, landing pages and experiences that drive conversions and pipeline revenue

  • Analyzing data, identifying insights that shape creative and strategic decisions, and reporting those insights clearly to clients

  • Seamlessly shifting from strategic (e.g., consulting in workshops) to tactical (e.g., setting up campaigns) thinking

  • Reading frequently — marketing books, platform updates and other sources — to continually improve your knowledge

  • Seeking smart solutions to the inevitable roadblocks in any marketing program

  • Constantly challenging the team to think strategically with a focus on outcomes: What’s the best path to help our clients hit their revenue goals?

  • Owning communication with your clients and keeping them on track to reach their goals

  • Some travel is possible

Within the strategy department, you’ll work closely with the strategy director and senior strategists to build and refine our demand generation playbook. You’ll also work to resolve issues, define processes and better your teammates.

What that looks like:

  • Meeting weekly as a department to identify and work through issues

  • Diving into professional development opportunities

  • Sharing wins and challenges with the team

  • Owning responsibilities for the department

  • Taking on additional duties as needed

Putting your role into perspective

Once a potential client expresses interest in working with Gorilla, you'll co-lead our Road Map discovery process with the strategy director. This includes leading a half-day discovery workshop with the client’s leadership team to deepen our understanding of their business. You’ll supplement what you learn with research and craft a documented action plan outlining the marketing activities needed to help them reach their revenue goals. You’ll then lead the team in executing that plan and — most importantly — achieving the client’s objectives.

Within three months you’ll...

  • Finish onboarding and training

  • Learn how to use our tech stack

  • Understand our campaign methodology

  • Meet with all department directors

  • Lead approximately four clients

  • Attend monthly State of Gorilla meetings

  • Gain an understanding of Gorilla’s workflow

  • Set professional and personal goals for the rest of the year

Within six months you’ll…

  • Own a full portfolio of client work

  • Earn the trust of your team as a leader on your accounts

  • Support strategic plan development to retain clients

  • Build strong relationships with your clients and teammates

  • Feel confident in your role and your work

Within one year you’ll…

  • Be an expert in your role

The person

Here is what we're looking for in our ideal candidate:

  • At least two years of experience in a strategic marketing role

  • Experience running demand generation campaigns and working in marketing CRMs

  • Knowledge of how to develop full-scale marketing programs using digital channels — and an openness to testing new tools (including AI) to improve performance

  • Confidence collaborating with C-level executives to understand the business, develop strategy, solve problems and show results

  • Tenacity and the ability to have tough conversations with clients and teammates

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills to keep clients on track

  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to evaluate priorities with attention to detail

  • A self-starting attitude — you’re comfortable figuring things out and experimenting with AI-driven approaches

  • Analytical thinking and comfort working with data from platforms like HubSpot, Salesforce and Google Analytics to surface insights

  • Empathy and clarity when working with both clients and internal teams

The team

While small and tight-knit, we’re a team — not a family. This helps us hold each other accountable. If you’re wondering who we are, read our manifesto and pay attention to our five core values. You can also check out our Instagram and see what people say about us on Glassdoor.
