Creative Marketing Manager – E-Commerce Wellness Brand (Remote)

About HartSpan

HartSpan is a founder-led DTC wellness brand delivering clean, effective, doctor-developed solutions for common health conditions. Our mission is to extend healthy years of life and promote longevity through natural, science-backed alternatives to pharmaceuticals.

Our flagship product, Khelp, is a natural, seaweed-based solution for acid reflux that creates a gentle barrier to help prevent symptoms at the source—without suppressing acid or disrupting digestion. We’re a lean, fast-moving team with a high bar for creative and operational excellence.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Creative Marketing Manager to lead content strategy and execution across paid and owned channels. This is a full-stack role blending creative direction, performance marketing, and content operations. You’ll manage freelancers, direct UGC creators, support influencer outreach, and launch high-performing creative across Meta, TikTok, Email, and more.

From concept through execution, you’ll drive acquisition and retention by owning the entire creative lifecycle—with strong support from the founder and a small team of specialists. We’re looking for a self-directed creative leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, thinks strategically, and executes with precision.

What You’ll Be Doing

Strategy + Ideation

  • Own creative direction for Meta, TikTok, Email/SMS, and Landing Pages

  • Analyze ad and lifecycle performance to generate new ideas weekly

  • Build and maintain a “Creative Guidance” doc that distills visual and messaging principles

  • Identify messaging gaps and develop new angles based on customer reviews, UGC, and research

Creative Production + Project Management

  • Brief, manage, and give clear feedback to editors, UGC creators, designers, and contractors

  • Create mockups or layouts in Canva or Figma when needed

  • Write hooks, overlays, scripts, captions, and email copy aligned to performance goals

  • Maintain a rolling 4-week content calendar across paid and owned channels

  • Organize all projects inside a Creative Tracker (Airtable or equivalent)

  • Support influencer outreach and gifting by identifying aligned creators and coordinating collaborations that generate usable content for paid and organic channels

Performance + Iteration

  • Prioritize new content tests weekly and triage winning/losing creatives

  • Track success rates and use learnings to evolve creative strategy

  • Participate in monthly creative performance reviews

AI Fluency + Tools

  • Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Midjourney, ElevenLabs, CapCut, Descript, etc.) to ideate, script, and prototype content

  • Develop and document your own AI workflows and best prompts for creative production

  • Know when AI can accelerate—and when it hurts—creative quality

KPIs You’ll Be Measured On

Output

  • Ad concepts launched per week

  • Winning ad concepts per month

  • Emails and SMS campaigns sent

  • UGC briefs executed

  • Design/video edits reviewed and launched

  • Influencer collaborations initiated and content received

Input

  • Time from concept to launch

  • Iteration speed on winning assets

  • Quality and organization of creative system (hub, tracker, testing doc)

Performance

  • Number of ads that hit ROAS / CTR / CVR targets

  • Increase in subscription renewal or re-order rate from lifecycle updates

  • Ad performance or engagement uplift from influencer-generated content

You’ll Excel in This Role If You

  • Are a rare blend of performance marketer and creative leader

  • Have excellent taste, but know performance > polish

  • Can write and design — or direct those who can with precision

  • Thrive in fast-paced, high-context, async environments

  • Know how to make creative feel cohesive, clean, and conversion-friendly

  • Are deeply curious about consumer psychology and DTC best practices

  • Have a track record of producing creative that consistently drives measurable revenue growth for DTC brands

  • Enjoy building light-touch relationships with influencers to expand creative assets and brand reach

Requirements

  • 3+ years in a performance creative, growth marketing, or creative strategist role, ideally in a DTC or fast-paced e-commerce environment

  • Proven ability to create or direct high-performing Meta or TikTok ads

  • Strong copywriting for UGC, email, landing pages, and ad creative

  • Proficient in Canva or Figma with a great eye for clean, conversion-optimized design

  • Experience managing freelance creators and editors

  • Skilled in using AI tools like ChatGPT, Midjourney, Descript, etc. with clear prompt strategies

  • Strong organizational habits and fluency in tools like Notion, Asana, or Airtable

  • Must overlap ≥3 hours with 9 a.m.–4 p.m. Pacific Time (Los Angeles)

  • Bonus: Experience coordinating influencer partnerships or creator gifting programs

Details & Compensation

  • Full-time contractor role

  • 60-day trial period to evaluate fit and contribution

  • Must overlap ≥3 hours with 9 a.m.–4 p.m. PT (Los Angeles)

  • Remote global candidates welcome

  • Annual compensation: $48,000–$60,000 USD, inclusive of base salary and performance-based bonus opportunity

    • Base salary: $3,500–$4,000 USD/month

    • Bonus potential: $1,500–$3,000/quarter (up to $500–$1,000/month equivalent) based on defined KPIs

  • Access to ongoing education, including courses, webinars, and 1:1 coaching with elite media buyers and premium marketing communities
