Content & SEO Director
As the Content & SEO Director, you will be responsible for the overall content and SEO strategy and ensure goals and tasks align with the broader company goals. You will lead all efforts to improve organic traffic performance, conversions, and engagement, and establish our suite of sites as industry-leading.
You will work with SEO specialists, and work closely with data specialists, analysts, and other managers to execute a holistic SEO strategy.
Responsibilities
Create and ensure successful implementation of site content plans/strategy
Ensure alignment with overall company strategy and goals
Provide in-depth reporting and analytics on traffic changes and provide solutions for traffic declines
Lead the ideation and execution of content topics across multiple sites
Analyze processes and workflows, making recommendations for improvements (and implementing them)
Provide ongoing mentorship and training to the team
Stay up to date with digital content, SEO, and addiction/rehab trends (including Google algorithm changes and minor updates)
Make recommendations for and recruit new team members as needed
Educate and provide regular feedback to the team on digital content and SEO best practices (create training documents)
Lead all SEO efforts, including on-page and technical improvements
Find new opportunities to maximize search rankings
Analyze RMN sites to identify key opportunities to make meaningful improvements in organic search
Evaluate audience behavior to forecast opportunities and trends
Lead the team to meet the organization's expectations for productivity, quality, continuous improvement, and goal accomplishment
Maintain transparent communication, including appropriately communicating organization information through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, and email, and regular interpersonal communication
Promote a positive company culture, leading by example to promote a positive, collaborative team environment
Skills and Qualifications
5 years of experience leading a digital content team (preferably for multiple sites simultaneously)
8 years of experience in a lead SEO role, with an understanding of both on-page and technical SEO
3 years or more of content strategy and management experience with a heavy focus on data.
Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging content to increase organic traffic
Demonstrated ability to establish, maintain, and continually improve editorial and SEO processes and workflows
In-depth knowledge of on-page SEO, SEO strategy, keyword analysis, technical SEO, off-page SEO, and more.
Ability to interpret analytics, communicate results, and formulate strategy to both executives and your team
Proven ability to recruit, manage, and lead successful teams and empower employees
Strong understanding of user-centered content strategy principles and best practices
Strong grasp of brand and digital marketing
In-depth understanding of SEO planning, implementation, and performance analysis
