Performance Creative Strategist

The role

Performance creative is our highest-leverage growth input. While we obsess over spend, production capacity, and media buying, our biggest mechanic for success is the strategic connective tissue that turns customer insight into winning ads, week after week.

As our Performance Creative Strategist, you will own that connective tissue. You’ll be the operator who runs our weekly creative flywheel end-to-end: mining insights from customers, creators, and competitors; concepting hooks, angles, and scripts; briefing our in-house team focused on creators, videos and static ads; and shipping 20–30 net-new ads per week into test. You’ll partner closely with our media buyers to close the loop between creative output and performance in-platform.

This role was originally stood up by the founder and recently inhabited by the CMO. Success looks like a fast-paced builder coming in and efficiently building out the program to be more effective and earning the trust of senior leadership through results and a steady hand. You’ll build a lean, agile, in-house creative engine across paid social and creator-led organic, and in time, grow the team around you.

We’re looking for a direct-response native with pattern recognition, copywriting skill, and a bias toward shipping. Not a brand generalist. Not a media buyer. A creative strategist who starts with the customer first and thinks in audiences, hooks, CTRs, and CPCs.

What you’ll do

Own the weekly creative flywheel

  • Run our weekly creative cadence end-to-end: insights → ideation → writer’s room → production → Thursday launch → Monday review

  • Mine customer reviews, CX tickets, surveys, and creator footage to generate a living library of hooks, angles, and proof points

  • Maintain a rolling competitive teardown across health, wellness, CPG, and DTC

  • Write tight, action-oriented briefs with clear strategic rationale for every asset

  • Hold the line on shipping 20–30 net-new creatives per week with diversity for Meta’s algorithm

Performance creative development

  • Concept and write high-converting direct-response creative across Meta and TikTok

  • Craft persuasive copy, hooks, and CTAs with customer knowledge and attention-grabbing teeth

  • Turn creator-led footage into paid-ready assets

  • Own the landing page/creative match with builders

  • Iterate relentlessly, pattern-matching across winning ads and testing new angles

AI & data-driven creative optimization

  • Partner with media buyers to close the loop: thumb-stop rate, CTR, CPC as CAC proxy

  • Test and build AI-empowered workflows across ideation, scripting, editing, and variants

  • Evaluate and operationalize tools that power performance creative at scale

  • Translate analytics into weekly “what to make next” decisions

  • Prototype and scale emerging formats before competitors

Creative operations & team leadership

  • Run a lean, agile in-house creative engine across paid social and creator-led organic

  • Stand up standardized processes, naming conventions, and a single source of truth

  • Manage a global creative pipeline with clear accountability

  • Raise the creative floor of the team through sessions or handoffs

  • Grow the team over time with business-cased hires

Stakeholder engagement

  • Serve as primary creative approvals contact for paid social

  • Present weekly learnings, winners, and next bets with clear POV

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with growth, brand, product, CX, and creator ops

  • Support creator roster and team handling creators — brief, debrief, and turn footage into winning ads

What we’re looking for

  • 7+ years in performance creative, growth marketing, or in-house performance agency roles with a portfolio of scaled paid social ads

  • Direct-response instincts: you think in hooks, CTRs, CPCs

  • Exceptional copywriting and creative storytelling with wit and voice

  • Deep pattern recognition across winning ads

  • Proven experience running creative pipelines across teams, creators, freelancers, and agencies

  • Fluency with modern performance creative stack: Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, Figma, Motion/Atria, Frame, Foreplay (or equivalents)

  • AI-first curiosity with generative tools for ideation, scripting, editing, and variants

  • Comfort with creator-led content as the top of the funnel

  • Strong project management instincts with accountability for launches

  • Bonus: experience at growth/performance agencies, fast-scaling DTC or consumer health brands, or in-house creator-led brands
