About PDF Tools APIs and service products

Products for the PDF Tools AG brand target developers that need to process a vast amount of documents. SDKs and shell tools enable engineers to build and integrate document processing into their product. We make it easy for our customers to convert, compress, manipulate, enrich and sign PDF documents and build innovative products and solutions.

About the role

Are you a motivated, results-driven Business Development Manager with a passion for discovering and closing new opportunities in the B2B tech space? Pdftools is growing our sales team and looking for a dynamic professional to lead our new customer acquisition efforts.
In this pivotal outbound role, you'll be instrumental in identifying, engaging, and securing strategic net-new accounts. You'll introduce our comprehensive digital document solutions to businesses focusing in DACH, solving complex document challenges and building the foundation for long-term partnerships. If you thrive on the thrill of the hunt, strategic prospecting, and navigating complex sales cycles to land significant deals, we want to hear from you.


What you'll do

  • Pioneer New Business: Proactively identify, research, and target high-potential enterprise and mid-market accounts for new customer acquisition through strategic outbound prospecting (cold outreach, networking, social selling, etc.).

  • Strategic Engagement: Initiate and lead the sales cycle with new prospects, from initial contact to discovery, solution presentation, and negotiation. Effectively communicate the value proposition of Pdftools' solutions, tailoring pitches to address specific customer pain points in document lifecycle management.

  • Collaborative Selling: Work closely with the Sales Leadership Team, Product Managers, and Solution Engineers to develop tailored proposals, navigate technical discussions, and ensure that our solutions align perfectly with potential clients' needs.

  • Market Insight: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs to continuously refine your outbound strategy and identify new market opportunities for Pdftools.

  • Contract Negotiation: Lead contract negotiations and pricing discussions to secure profitable multi-year deals.

What you'll bring

  • 3-5 years of proven outbound sales experience in a B2B tech environment, specifically focused on new business acquisition.

  • A strong knowledge of SaaS sales and a track record of consistently winning multi-year 4-6 figure deals from net-new clients (mid-size and enterprise)

  • Fluency in German, enabling effective communication in key markets.

  • A curious mindset and a strong technical aptitude, eager to understand our product deeply and articulate its technical advantages to diverse audiences. An engineering background is a significant plus

  • Exceptional ability to identify, qualify, and engage new prospects through proactive outbound activities

  • Self-motivated, hard-working, and a fast learner with an exceptional ability to communicate with and orchestrate multiple stakeholders (internal and external) throughout the sales cycle

  • The capability to assemble information from various sources and craft compelling, value-driven propositions that resonate with new prospects and lead to successful conversions
