Web Analyst

About the Team 

The Communications and Marketing team is responsible for building and protecting the College Board reputation, overseeing organization's communications efforts, and growing the organization’s three highest priority areas: AP, SAT Suite, and BigFuture, which are designed to increase educational access and opportunity for all students. We are a close knit, dedicated team with a track record of success in promoting the work of the College Board to a variety of audiences, including students, parents, educators, policymakers, the media, member organizations, and staff. 

 

About the Opportunity  

As a Web and Data Analyst, you will support various College Board initiatives with a focus on those related to the organization’s three highest priority areas. As an individual contributor to a growing and exciting function aimed at driving effective business decisions, you’ll focus on projects related to college search and planning and provide insights based on market demand and competitive analysis. You will turn web data into clear, meaningful reporting and analysis for identifying opportunities for our highest priority areas. 

 

In this role, you will: 

Analyze (80%) 

  • Use a variety of tools to extract and analyze data generated by online user activity 

  • Understand the behavior and expectations of online visitors 

  • Determine, track, and prepare findings for KPIs and customer experience behavior 

  • Monitor marketing performance and engagement 

  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets 

  • Stay up to date with the latest trends in online marketing and design 

  • Work with key stakeholders to prioritize business and information needs 

  • Evaluate and optimize site search performance 

 

Communicate (20%) 

  • Continuously communicate KPI and customer experience behavior insights for College Board leaders 

  • Prepare data visualizations and key takeaways that are easy to understand 

  • Provide solutions that have demonstrable results, working with web development and marketing teams to implement your solutions 

About You 

You have: 

  • Outstanding knowledge of emerging trends and best practices in online marketing and design 

  • Adept problem-solving skills, including using data to inform decisions and actions  

  • Strong organization and prioritization skills and the proven ability to move forward multiple projects in concert, both independently and as a member of the team with excellent attention to detail and accuracy 

  • Ability to work effectively with different people in technical and marketing fields 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and presenting remotely and in-person to groups of 15 or more 

  • Proficiency with major web analytics tools, experience in Adobe Analytics is preferred 

  • Expertise in data mining and analysis is preferred 

  • A passion for supporting educational and career opportunities for millions of students  

  • Willingness to travel 2-3 times per year or <10% for in-person meetings/gatherings 

  • Site Search experience preferred 

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, statistics, computer science, information management, or statistics is preferred

The salary offer of an individual candidate within this range is specific to their location and qualifications.
