About Us
UNFOLD is an award-winning digital creative agency based in Los Angeles, partnering with some of the world’s most dynamic entertainment and brand clients. We create culturally relevant, digitally driven work that connects audiences and brands across platforms.
The Role
Our Gaming team is seeking an experienced Social Media Manager to lead day-to-day social channel management and content publishing for a mobile video game IP. This role is ideal for a social lead who understands how to translate campaign strategy into consistent, high-quality social execution.
You will be responsible for managing the social channels themselves — including content scheduling, publishing, and ongoing channel oversight — while ensuring that each post supports the broader launch strategy and connects with gaming audiences.
Working closely with the Director of Social and cross-functional teams, you will manage the editorial calendar, oversee content rollout across platforms, and help ensure social content is delivered and published accurately, on time, and aligned with campaign priorities.
This freelance role runs May through December 2026 and will focus on channel management, content publishing, editorial planning, and copywriting across key social platforms. While you may support social content development when needed, a dedicated creative team will lead primary concepting and asset creation.
Here’s What You’ll Do
Social Channel Management & Publishing
Own day-to-day management of the game’s social channels, ensuring consistent, high-quality publishing across platforms
Schedule, publish, and manage social content across channels including coordination of launch beats, announcements, and campaign moments
Maintain platform best practices and ensure posts are optimized for each channel
Editorial Planning & Content Operations
Build and manage the social editorial calendar across launch phases
Coordinate with creative, production, and client teams to ensure assets are delivered, approved, and ready for publishing
Write and refine social copy to ensure consistency with the game’s tone and voice
Perform final quality control (QC) on all social posts before publishing, ensuring accuracy of copy, assets, links, tags, and platform formatting
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Launch Support
Work closely with the Director of Social and cross-functional teams to support integrated campaign execution
Support the rollout of social content created by the creative team, ensuring assets are properly formatted, scheduled, and published
Monitor gaming culture, platform trends, and audience behaviors to help keep content timely and relevant
Here’s What It Takes
6+ years of experience managing brand or entertainment social channels, ideally within gaming, entertainment, or agency environments
Proven experience publishing and managing high-volume social content across multiple platforms
Strong experience building and maintaining editorial calendars and social publishing workflows
Excellent copywriting and editing skills for social media
Strong understanding of gaming audiences, fan communities, and social platform behaviors
Ability to coordinate across multiple teams and manage deadlines in a fast-paced campaign environment
Previous experience serving as a client-facing social media lead (SME), comfortable presenting recommendations, communicating updates, and collaborating directly with client partners
Experience supporting or leading social campaigns for the launch of a new AAA game IP or major title release
Proficiency with Google Workspace and social publishing / collaboration tools (e.g., Sprinklr, Sprout, Asana, Slack)
