
Business Development Executive - Federal
The Role
Our fast-growing Revenue Team is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Executive (BDE) to lead and grow our sales efforts in the federal market segment. BDEs are inside, phone/video call based, customer-facing sales roles that prospect and close business while working closely with their Account Executives to develop a strategic sales plan and outreach strategy. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of how the government operates, including procurement policies and procedures, and experience working with federal agencies and contractors. You will not only be helping sell our groundbreaking technology, but be a part of building a truly great company and culture.
Responsibilities
Own the full Business Development process including:
Daily Lead Generation: Cold calling, emailing, sending LinkedIn InMail, requesting referrals, doing Social outreach, etc.
Collaborating with Account Executives to plan sales outreach strategies
Researching Accounts and potential contacts
Qualifying leads and scheduling calls with prospective clients
Effectively communicate the value proposition of our products to clients and be able to react to objections and competitive questions
Documenting all relevant customer information and conversations into Salesforce
Meet or exceed weekly metrics and quarterly KPI’s
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in an inside sales role doing daily prospecting, cold calling, emailing, requesting referrals, additional lead generation activities
Solid understanding of how the government operates, including procurement policies and procedures, and experience working with federal agencies and contractors.
Experience in technology (ideally SaaS) sales environment
Prior track record of achieving or exceeding sales quotas
Experience working with Salesforce.com or similar CRM
The ability to jump between different projects and industries and quickly understand value props for each new client
Strong capabilities in pipeline development/management, sales process, and sales methods
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor's degree from a competitive university, or equivalent experience
You are a results-oriented individual who is excited by a high-performance culture
Team player with the ability to contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative environment
Comfortable in ambiguity, and the ability to pivot quickly
Enjoys a positive “can do” environment
Thrives on teamwork, but can operate independently in a remote world and work setting
