We develop and operate AniLive, a mobile streaming app specifically designed for virtual streamers and their fans in English-speaking countries.
On this platform, streamers can become "AniLivers" with their own avatars, allowing them to start streaming from "anytime, anywhere" and earn income. As viewers, the vertical streaming experience on AniLive enables them to enjoy communication with their favorite AniLivers from a close distance, experiencing a new level of engagement including various gift animations.
With the release of AniLive, our company aims to revolutionize the virtual streaming industry and bring more fun to the global anime/VTuber community!
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Marketing Officer to lead the planning and execution of overall marketing activities for AniLive. As a startup, our current marketing team is still small, so we're looking for someone who not only creates strategies, but also works the hardest within the team. The ideal candidate has experience in the growth phase of consumer apps and has acquired users from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives.
Because of the importance and challenges that come with this position, there will be a 6 month contracted trial period to determine if there's a good mutual fit.
What you will do
Lead the development and execution of comprehensive marketing strategies to promote AniLive across various platforms and channels with strategic insights for the existing and potential markets
Responsible for maximizing LTV and reducing acquisition costs
Lead marketing localization (ex. ASEAN) based on local research, drawing on that experience
Conceptualize and oversee the production of engaging and shareable content that resonates with our target audience, driving organic reach and generating buzz around AniLive
Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure press coverage and maximize visibility for our brand and projects. Develop press releases, media kits, and other PR materials as needed
Define and maintain the overall brand identity for our company and projects, ensuring brand consistency across all marketing materials and communications
Lead and mentor a team of marketing professionals, providing guidance, support, and inspiration to drive collaboration, creativity, and performance excellence
Manage marketing budgets effectively, allocating resources strategically to achieve maximum impact and ROI
Stay well-informed with the industry’s advancements and the emerging marketing technologies
What you will bring
Passion for the Japanese entertainment industry — anime, manga, gaming, VTubing... you must be an otaku!
Minimum 5 years experience as a senior marketing leader, particularly in the entertainment sector's digital, social, and emerging technologies such as VTubing
Previous experience leading and building out the marketing team structure
Business level English is required
You already have startup experience and enjoy the dynamics + face-paced nature inherent in startups
Proven track record of driving revenue by increasing sales through marketing activities
Experience building good relationships with internal and external stakeholders, especially as you work closely with the Design and Product teams
Excellent impersonal and communication skills, especially in a remote and multicultural working environment
Experience using Notion, GSuite, Microsoft Office, Slack, and Zoom
