Job Details

Openly is looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) responsible for generating new relationships with prospective agencies looking to sell Openly’s homeowner product. This role focuses on contacting and developing relationships with potential agents while evaluating whether their business model aligns with Openly’s value proposition, and seamlessly transitioning the agency through the appointment process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive inbound leads and initiate the agency appointment process by triaging agencies against Openly’s appointment criteria

  • Supplement pipeline with outbound calls and email campaigns

  • Cultivate relationships with potential agency partners by providing an overview of Openly and understanding how Openly fits into their business model

  • Conduct discovery to attain key metrics about agencies and their business

  • Build trust with agents by ensuring a seamless transition through the appointment process, adhering to Openly’s standards and setting expectations

  • Set up meetings between prospective agencies and Openly Business Development Associates (BDAs)

  • Ensure meetings are held between prospective agents and BDAs

  • Manage and maintain strong data integrity and hygiene in CRM across leads, opportunities, and accounts

  • Leverage pipeline data to forecast monthly and quarterly results

  • Provide weekly updates to the team regarding territory goals and objectives

Requirements

  • 1+ years of outstanding sales performance with ability to drive results in a fast-paced environment

  • 1+ years of experience in P&C insurance industry preferred

  • Experience with multiple sales techniques, including cold calling and email campaigns

  • Consistent track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets

  • Passion for helping partner agencies

  • Strong organizational, negotiation, and value-based selling skills

  • Customer-centric mindset with ability to quickly establish trust and credibility

  • Insurance product knowledge and ability to rapidly expand knowledge

  • Proficiency with Microsoft and Google products; CRM experience required

  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time

  • Property & Casualty insurance producer license, or ability to obtain within first four weeks of employment

Compensation & Benefits

Budgeted Salary Range: $54,960 - $60,000 USD
Full Salary Range: $51,525 - $85,875 USD
