Building Poppy & Peonies has been an incredible adventure. It all started when my daughter Poppy was born, and I found that my accessories no longer fit my new life as a mom. I needed bags with pockets and organization that looked cool but also had functionality. When I couldn’t find them, I decided to create them myself. And so, in 2015, Poppy & Peonies was born. We’ve come a long way since then—from filling orders in my basement to appearing on Dragons’ Den, and now, expanding into new product categories and collaborating with exciting influencers and brands. It hasn’t always been smooth sailing, but thanks to our incredible community, we’ve never felt more loved and supported!
We believe in our responsibility to care for the environment and are passionate about preserving the health and welfare of our planet and the animals that live on it. That’s why all of our bags are made from high-quality vegan leather, and our entire product line is vegan, cruelty-free, and PETA-approved. We ship our products plastic-free and use a combination of recycled, compostable, and biodegradable materials to mitigate shipping waste. We are constantly looking for new ways to make our products and supply chain more sustainable, reducing our carbon footprint.
The Opportunity
You know what makes content click and what makes people keep scrolling. As Social Marketing Coordinator, you will help shape how Poppy & Peonies shows up across social, turning ideas into content that feels timely, thoughtful, and on brand.
You will work closely with the Social Marketing Specialist to keep our channels running smoothly and our content calendar moving. From publishing and scheduling to writing captions, spotting opportunities, and making sure every post is optimized, you will be deeply involved in the day to day execution that keeps a strong social presence alive. You will help ensure the details are buttoned up while also bringing a sharp eye for what is relevant, engaging, and worth paying attention to.
This role is a strong fit for someone who is digitally fluent, highly organized, creative, and tuned into the pace of social. Someone who understands that great social is equal parts instinct, taste, strategy, and consistency. You are curious about trends, but even more curious about why they work and how to translate them in a way that feels smart and right for the brand.

More Details About The Role
Own the day-to-day scheduling and publishing of content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and any future platform expansions.
Execute against the social content calendar with accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
Ensure all posts are properly formatted, captioned, tagged, and optimized for each platform while maintaining brand voice and visual standards.
Conduct final quality checks on all content prior to publishing (links, tags, formatting, spelling, product mentions, etc.).
Assist with editing and preparing short-form video content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and other social-first formats.
Identify trending sounds, formats, and cultural moments that align with the brand and can be leveraged for timely content.
Monitor social media trends, platform updates, and emerging features to support ongoing optimization.
Support community engagement by assisting with comment moderation and direct messages as needed.
Monitor brand mentions and conversations, flagging customer service or brand-sensitive issues appropriately.
Collaborate closely with the Social Marketing Specialist to ensure seamless execution, enabling focus on strategy, growth initiatives, and on-set content leadership.
What You Bring to The Role
2+ years of experience in social marketing and content creation.
You have proven experience in social media marketing and content creation, with an emphasis on building, growing, and maintaining social channels.
You have strong knowledge of social media platforms including Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook.
You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
You are highly creative with an eye for visual content and the ability to translate ideas into engaging social media content.
You have experience in executing content calendars, scheduling posts, and ensuring consistent brand voice across platforms.
You are proficient in social media analytics tools (Instagram Insights, Meta Analytics, etc.) to track performance and identify opportunities.
You’re a collaborative team player who can brainstorm with others.
You’re flexible and can adapt to changing priorities on the go.
You are detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
You have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Location
We’re a fully remote team spread across North America, which means you can work from wherever you do your best thinking, problem-solving, and customer-obsessing. While this role is fully remote, there may be opportunities for domestic or international travel for team get-togethers, special events, and the occasional chance to connect in person.

$60,000 - $70,000 a year
Total Rewards
Annual Salary ranges from $60,000-$70,000 CAD
